Terms and Conditions

  • All costumes remain the property of Fancy Dressing Up?
  • Costume hire is for one day/night’s duration (unless otherwise agreed).
  • Costumes must be returned on the day specified on the booking form below, failure to do so will result in the £3.00 per day surcharge.
  • Customers must always wear underwear when wearing our costumes.
  • Customers must not wash, pin, sew, iron, or affix sticky labels to the costumes.
  • Cash, cheque's (with guarantee card) or credit card details are accepted for security deposits.
  • The deposit will be forfeited, or the cost of a replacement charged if:
  • a costume is not returned for any reason
  • a costume is returned & is beyond reasonable repair.
  • a costume is returned with permanent damage (e.g. burns, tears).
  • a costume is returned with any item/s missing or broken.
  • Please do not spray perfume/aftershave directly onto the costumes.
  • A pre booked costume that is cancelled within 48 hours will loose 50% of the deposit paid.

FAQ's

How much is it to hire a costume?

Hire charges range from as little as £4.00 for an accessory up to £40.00 for a deluxe complete costume. As a rough average, £25.00 would cover the hire of most costumes. If you decide to reserve a costume for your party/event you will need to leave a deposit. If your order is then cancelled within 48 hours of your hire date you will be refunded 50% of your deposit left.

Do I need to leave a security deposit?

Before your costume goes out on hire, we will require a deposit which will cover the cost of a replacement costume. This can be left as cash, cheque (with guarantee card) or your credit card details (deposit is NEVER actually taken from your account).

This deposit is then refunded in full when the costume is returned undamaged, complete & on time. If returned after our agreed date a £3.00 per day charge will be deducted from your deposit.

Cleanliness?

All our costumes are washed after every hire. Returning the costume as early as possible on the day it is due for return would help us greatly.

We realise that our costumes are being hired for you to have a good time, and expect a reasonable amount of soiling on the costumes. However, if a costume is returned to us in such a condition that it needs specialist cleaning, we will charge for this cleaning at cost and subtract it from your deposit.

Please remember, that the costumes belong to Fancy Dressing Up? and we expect you to respect this while you have them on rental.

How do I pay?

We accept most major credit and debit cards, cash & cheques with guarantee cards.

Can you send me a list of your costumes?

We stock a huge amount of costumes and our inventory is constantly being updated which makes it difficult to list everything. We cover most categories in all sizes, XS - XXL. If you require a particular costume its best to send us an email, phone us or pop in to see if we have it in stock.

Most of our categories have been listed in our Costumes page and there are selected photos in our gallery.

Do you do mail order?

We like our customers to come in & try on our costumes before hiring. This is so we both know it is a good, comfortable fit for you, so no, we don't do mail order. Remember, you will have to spend a whole evening wearing your costumes so a comfortable fit is very important.
